Twenty-five years building software — payment platforms, merchant systems, loyalty programmes — mostly in the one field where a rounding error is somebody's money. I have run engineering teams in start-ups, in SMEs and in multinationals, which is a useful spectrum: it is how you learn which problems belong to which size of company, and how differently each can afford to solve them.

Singapore has been home since 2003. I work with smaller businesses because their problems are the ones I find recognisable and worth solving — rarely the problems a software vendor's brochure is written about.

I work in English and French, and adapt the register to whoever is in the room — the documentation can be precise without the training session being incomprehensible.

Why the company exists

Good software is not the privilege of large companies.

Most SMEs run on tools built for somebody else's process, plus a layer of spreadsheets and goodwill holding the gaps together. It works, until it quietly stops working: the errors creep up, the month-end gets longer, and the business depends on whoever remembers how the file is structured.

Enterprise software vendors do not solve this — their products assume a scale and a budget that is not yours. Large consultancies do not either, for the same reason. What is left is a gap that suits exactly the kind of firm we set out to be: close enough to see how you actually work, small enough that it is worth doing properly.
